I'm sure you've seen these kinds of photos here and there. The subject or part of the photo is in color and the background is in black and white. Or the reverse.
Maybe you've thought to yourself, "Gee, I wish I could do that."
I'm here to tell you, Yes! You can! And you don't need to pay for the software that does that. And you don't need to take a class to do it either. I got ya covered here.
But before we start: why do this?
I don't know. For fun.
Or more seriously, to stress a point. I was on vacation in Norway when I took this picture. I know, who goes to Norway in the winter for vacation? Crazy people like me. I digress.
I've been to Norway many times, and I've seen this astronaut many times. But never in the depths of an ice-cold winter. And when we were there, it was unusually cold. So this astronaut really stood out. There was something so lovely, so colorful about him against the background of the cold, bleak day.
I hope you give this a try. And by the way, you can do this in Canva, too. I use Adobe Express because I have a subscription to all of the Adobe Creative suite. It's pretty good. But I did this in Canva, too, and there's almost not difference.
Enjoy! And if you try it, show me what you created.
