If you’ve wondered how to create social media posts with text overlays or graphics, but didn’t know how, I’ll tell you something: it’s pretty easy. And you don’t need to know any code or have any graphics skills. Seriously! There are a few free solutions out there that you can use on both desktop and on your phone.

In this video I’ll show you how to do it using Canva, which is free. You can sign up for an account through Google, Facebook or your email address. I also use Adobe Spark, which I think is equally good. Both platforms offer premium versions if you need more than what the basic package does, but I’ve found the free versions are adequate.

In Conclusion

There are so many things you can do with Canva (or Adobe Spark, if you prefer) that will enhance the look of your social media images. I think people like to see titles and text on images because it tells them immediately what the post is about, and it can further explain something that may not be so obvious in a picture alone.

If you try Canva out, let me know! I’d love to see what you’ve created.
